Booking your Wedding Suppliers in a pandemic!

I hope you are all keeping well and safe in lockdown 3.0?
I just wanted to address this “booking wedding suppliers in a pandemic” topic, which understandably keeps popping up with couples enquiring for their big day.
There is so much uncertainty right now- when will weddings be allowed again, how many guests, what rules will there be? I get it - a lot of questions unanswered. I must reassure you the wedding industry is a very close knit one and many of us are working hard behind the scenes to get answers from the government with a timeline and “roadmap” to help us all plan for the future of this brilliant industry. Not just for our own livelihoods but to ensure you get some answers as couples who just want to have the best wedding day possible.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY
I am very lucky to have a very busy diary this year - June onwards particularly and I am still staying very hopeful we can carry on with these as intended. I have always kept in touch with my couples, I find keeping regular contact and being honest with each other really helps in this situation. After all, none of us have experienced this before and believe me when I say. I am just as heartbroken when I get a postponement email through but helping you through this time is the top of my agenda. Communication is key - always know I am just an email or phone call away.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT SUPPLIERS
Having a look at reviews and there presence online during this pandemic is a really good one to start with. Have they stayed positive and pro-active in these times? How are they dealing with current clients in these super stressful times? Just a few things to consider with any supplier you book in for your day.

When you enquire with me, I will always get back to you within the day and let you know if I am available or not for your day (if not, I will always send a list of names of those who are free)
If I am available then super, let’s get a call booked in to have a chat further. I am always happy to discuss anything with you - whether that’s uncertainties, any questions you have, or just a chat about what you envisage for the day) If a video call suits you both better - any kids / four legged friends always welcome to join too :)
I always keep you pencilled in next to the date for a week or so, allowing plenty of time to have a chat further and decide if now is the right time to book in for you.
PAYMENT PLANS
Many of my couples this year have found it useful to have a payment plan, I can provide this for you (free of charge of course) and if it helps you out, great! Just let me know.
IF YOU DO NEED TO POSTPONE
This is the question on everyones list at the moment - of course, if you did need to postpone, just let me know as early as you can and we can chat over dates. I always suggest making a spreadsheet with the various dates and all the suppliers - then you can easily see whose free on which date and you can choose the one that most can make so it takes out the stress for you of having to find others. I do not charge extra for a postponement.
Rest assured, we are here to help make this wedding planning journey a fun one and will do all we can to ease the stress. Weddings book so far in advance, that despite all the craziness right now, we will soon be back to fun times - partying hard and hugging our loved ones. That is what we are aiming for and securing top suppliers now will make sure you can have the very best of the best for your day, whether thats in ‘21, ‘22 or beyond!
